Surprisingly, even in patients who initially present with very little hair atop their head, the gradual growth of transplanted hair after a session can enable them to "get away with" anyone noticing that they have had anything done. This was the case with this 52-yr-old man after a 2050-micrograft session.

Newly transplanted hair grows in as vellus (miniaturized) hair during the first 3-4 months only to subtly increase in density and caliber until full growth is gradually appreciated at 9-12 months. This patient, as so often is the case, had people unknowingly comment, "You look great! Have you lost weight? Have you been working out?"
