In areas in which the hair is directed outwards (e.g. vertex, part-lines) thinning is much more evident in the form of an exposed scalp. By improving the density within these specific regions, not only does the part-line appear more dense, but the surrounding areas also benefit greatly from the "shingling effect" of hair cascading outwards from this thickened zone of origin.
