This 46-yr-old male was offered a choice of surgical designs prior to his session. Because of his above-average donor density, he was presented with either: 1) slightly lowering his hairline and thickening his frontal third, or 2) more aggressively advancing his hairline as well as reconstructing his temples. He opted for the latter (see pattern image) during his 2391-micrograft session to the entire frontal region.
Patients are often given different options with respect to a surgical plan. As long as the anticipated donor-to-recipient ratio can accommodate the patient's expectations, the decision between the patient and physician should be a collaborative one.
